Winner and Official Running Club of San Francisco for 2008 is PacWest Athletics.

Congratulations to all the members of PacWest Athletics on their victory in the Stadium-to-Stadium 10K Challenge. PacWest’s outstanding athletic performance on an unexpectedly hot day was inspiring and a testament to their commitment to athletic excellence. In consideration of PacWest's achievement and support of this community event, Mayor Newsom designated PacWest Athletics as the Official Running Club of San Francisco for 2008. Congratulations and many thanks are due to San Francisco Road Runners Club and Pamakids for their competitive participation in the Challenge. Without the participation of these clubs our event would not have been as successful as it was.

The support of local running clubs, high school students, residents and our sponsors has helped raise awareness of the Communities of Opportunities (COO) Initiative which benefits residents of San Francisco’s most marginalized communities. Their support of this initiative is instrumental in raising the quality of life of the community. The residents of the community are grateful for the support and Mayor Newsom would like to extend his gratitude on their behalf. Congratulations on your success.

Next year's event is tentatively scheduled for June 20.

Come RUN or walk with Renel Brooks-Moon, host of the morning show on 98.1 KISS FM, and the voice of The San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park, media personality Renel Brooks-Moon brings excitement and enthusiasm to everything she does. .
